A BIG Thank you to everyone that came to the Annual Spring Wedding and Event Industry Mixer and Showcase
held at the Wheeler/Stallard Museum on June 7th!
WE HOPE YOU HAD AS MUCH FUN AS WE DID
It’s been a little over a week since the Annual Spring Wedding & Event Industry Mixer and Showcase. I’d like to take full and complete credit for single-handedly putting on the entire production. Just kidding!
If everyone in the event industry can agree on one thing, it’s that teamwork makes the dream work. No event is possible without the help and expertise of a ton of amazing individuals (more on those in a bit), some good luck (thank you Mother Nature for being on our side that day), and the guests (because without you there is no party).
Hi Love Events flew in from Chicago and helped me with day-of set up and close down (thank you, you seriously rock).
The setup looked amazing – it was a circle of a few vendors underneath Premier Party Rental’s Sailcloth Tent. The whole thing had dreamy hippy-circle vibes, but in that elegant yet intimate way only Aspen can pull off. It was the perfect time to get touchy-feely with the vendor’s products. Makeup and hair stylists had guests sit in their chairs to get dolled up, Chef Elissa of D’Elissious Cake Studio shared her to-die-for cupcakes, and Meat & Cheese brought a board of (yup, you guessed it) meat and cheese.
Aspen Event Imprints printed custom trucker hats for each guest (a huge hit) while Home Team BBQ catered the event and kept our bellies happy. Marble Distillery and Wine Bar kept the drinks poured and conversation flowing.
All in all, this note is a long-winded, and heartfelt thank you. You all made this year’s unofficial-official wedding season kickoff another one for the books. Get the details on the sponsors and showcased businesses below (or check them out on The Aspen Wedding Guide).

Our annual Spring Fling was held at the Gant Condominiums newly renovated Molly Campbell Conference Center. We are honored to have such a supportive and creative wedding community in the Roaring Fork Valley, thank you to everyone who stopped by to see this amazing new space and hope you enjoyed networking with the valley’s wedding professionals. We hope you gained insight and inspiration!
Every mountain resort has its community comprised of individuals contributing to the enhancement of the culture of the town. In Aspen, many of these community leaders are members of our Aspen Wedding Guide, business entrepreneurs who know what it takes to throw a great party. Naturally, when it comes to planning a Sip & See we need to hold the bar high to meet the discerning standards of our clients.
To begin the evening, cocktails and delicious appetizers were served at the Aspen Branch’s first annual end of season garage sale. Deals were to be made with candles, votives and containers leftover from summer events and sold at bargain prices. The studio was also decorated with inspirational ideas for fall floral decor and new furniture available for rent.
When speaking with The Aspen Branch owner, Beth Gill after the event Gill said, “At each Sip & See, I think its a great opportunity for us all to help support each other, share ideas and see what resources are available locally in the valley. This event was a nice way to get the community together and get bargains leftover from the season.“
After shopping, the guests walked next door to Mawa’s Kitchen for more cocktails and appetizers plus the big treat! A delectable and creative, 3-course meal sponsored by Mawa’s Kitchen. To encourage interaction between guests, Mawa, always the perfect hostess, kept the party flowing ensuring that everybody had a chance to meet one another. When asked about the event Mawa said, “The guests loved the experience of being in the intimate dining room and by the end of the evening we all became best friends.” “It is a labor of love what I do, preparing simple healthy food,” says Mawa.
Mawa spoke with us about the event and working with Robin of Aspen Wedding Guide, “Robin, is not only a good friend but she is an amazing person. She brought guests I had never met before and helped me to break the mold from Mawa the Restaurant Manager at The Little Nell to Mawa the Chef.”
We give great thanks to all those who made it happen and look so forward to our next event.

When planning our Sip and See networking events, we strive to give you the flavor of a real wedding in Aspen while showcasing what other professionals are providing for events in our valley. The goal is that there are no surprises when it is time to put on your big event. We want our members to sip the nectar and taste the whole enchilada.
Our last Sip and See on June 4th took place on the beautiful grounds of T Lazy 7 Ranch just before the sun set behind Pyramid Peak, one of the 54 peaks in the Colorado Rockies over 14,000-feet.
Members networked under Premier Party Rental’s Tidewater 51 x 91 Sail Cloth tent allowing them to get a sense of space and see the decor options for a tent that seats 250 guests.
While guests were served cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres by Epicurious Catering, boots were shuffling to country western music played by the Caleb Dean Band and free headshots were taken by Michele Cardamone and Alex Irvin of The Photographers.
The T Lazy 7 Ranch has been owned and operated since 1938 by the Deane family, whose local roots extend back to Josiah Deane, one of the 5 members of the original party to establish the town of Aspen in 1880 and Rick Dean was on hand with his hard-working crew to ensure that all was in working order.
At T Lazy 7, there are quite a few options for receptions and ceremonies from being out in the field to indoors in the authentic lodge. Caterers, designers, and entertainment can be brought in.
The ranch is the last outpost before being surrounded by a quarter of a million acres of White River National Forest—the largest National Park in Colorado and the picturesque scenery has served as the backdrop for several movies and is home to the most photographed peaks in North America: The Maroon Bells.
